1. The currents in each branch of a two branched parallel circuit are given by the
expression ia = 7.07 sin (314t /4) and ib = 21.2 sin (314t + /3). The supply
voltage is given by the expression v = 354sin314t. Derive a similar expression for
the supply current and calculate the ohmic value of the component assuming two
pure components in each branch. State whether the reactive components are
inductive or capacitive.
Draw the parallel circuit with two branches.
Mark the current as ia and ib.
ZA and ZB can be found out.
Supply current will be the resultant of the two branch currents. Use horizontal and
vertical component method.

Find out XL and XC.
State that the branch A is inductive and branch B is capacitive.
Net circuit behaviour is that as a leading circuit.
