the relay race. They will be into 3 teams. I will call out

the word. The first person in the line will come up and
write the first letter on the word, then walk back to the
line. When they reach the line, they will hand the chalk
off to the next person in line. That person will go up and
write the second letter on the board. This will happen for
every letter of the word. If someone puts the wrong letter
up, the person that goes next will erase the wrong letter,
and write the correct one. The first team that finishes will
reach a point. When we get done with the spelling list,
the team with the most points wins!
Transition: Students will divide into three different
____30_ groups. They will get into their lines by my dismissal.

Possible Modifications: If this lesson plan is too easy,

then I will end lesson plan because this means that
students have mastered their spelling words for this
week. If this is too hard, we need to switch to something
like dribbling a basketball while spelling the words to
have more one on one attention to learn the words. If it
is too boring, then students can do one squat for every
letter than is put on the board.
Lesson Review: What were the words that we found
pretty easy this week? What are some words that we
need to work on before our spelling test this week.

Notes: The blank boxes are the desks, and the xs are the lines of students.
