Ss will understand
the term
collocations and
what they are for.

T asks the Ss about collocations, and then explains


why they are important to learn. T asks them if
there are collocations in Croatian which they can
remember, and then provide examples with her
help.

remember the
words they already
know, and think
which ones go with
the verbs they got.

T writes the verbs on the board: make, do, get, and


have, and divides the Ss into 4 groups. They have
to think of as many collocations as possible for one
of the verbs they got. One S from each group
comes to the board and writes the words.

Ss look at the task no. 2, and try to understand who


is unhappy and why, then they solve it individually.
Ss solve the task no. 3, and they check the answers
with the T, as well as the possible unknown words.
Ss get the HOs and think which of the verbs given
collocate with the words below. They check it with
the T, and then make their own sentences using 5
collocations.
T divides the Ss into 2 groups, tell the Ss to choose
one representative, then reads the sentences,
omitting the words which Ss have to guess.
Representatives have to come the board and touch
the correct word. T writes the points.
