1. Racial profiling, a discriminatory practice, is against civil rights. After the
terrible event of 9/11, the Arab and Muslim groups incurred the racial
profiling. American became scared of them that looks like terrorists. Many
situation concerned the high security such as airports security. During this
time a law was passed in Arizona, it had the law executive authority to ask
people who seemed illegal by looking foreign to question them for some
documents. On the same social level but in the different race, people have
some chances interacting together, the racial profiling might be remedied.
2. In US, a lot of immigrants have had suffered the effects of the prejudicing.
They do not have some good jobs because their English is not very good. The
event of the Montgomery Bus Boycott is other example of the prejudicing. In
Europe, the Nazi party killed a lot of Jews and others, that they were seemed
as lower people.
3. The social construction of race means that race is a man-made structure.
Race affect our polity, legal system, and economy. In society, certain race
may carry some advantages more than other races. For example, white
people have more chances getting the good jobs, but black people have the
less chances to get jobs. Also, the blacks have less money than their parents,
yet the whites get more income than their parents. Immigrant families who
having more generations have more advantages than others have. They may
face less prejudice, and they would achieve higher social level.
4. The model minority, the group, overcome some prejudicing and
discrimination, and they have good economy and good education. For
example, living up to the image of the minority group many Asian Americans
have. Despite they are model minority, they have still suffer the
discrimination. They have to still get over prejudice. Model minority having
the advantages of being able to adapt to English easily. Also, they can speak
their native languages.
