The researchers used a cognitive mapping and a survey in analyzing their study. Cognitive
mapping is one technique that could be used to make analysis of data gathered to be more systematic and
quantifiable. It can show how respondents link categories together and seeks to represent certain
characteristics of the respondents thinking. On the other hand, a survey is a research technique that deals
with the utilization of the questionnaire. Thus, the answers to the identified research problems were drawn
upon analyzing the results of the accomplished questionnaires by the respondents.
The primary source of data that the researchers used was generated from the answers of their
respondents to the questionnaire. They had also looked for other sources of information like books,
internet, periodicals, magazine and other valuable sources for further analysis.
Basically, the questionnaire has two parts. Its first part contains the demographic profile of the
respondents such as age, gender, religion, education, income and respondents commitment outside the
profession. The second part delved on the level of sensitivity of print media practitioners to some issues in
Journalism. Furthermore, the prepared questions for the respondents were conducted personally by the
researchers.
And from these, the researchers came up with reference materials that supported the study.
