communityforJakarta,andcurrentlyhometoover5

TwoareasformerlywithintheRegencyhavebeen
splitoffasautonomouscitieson20April1999,the
cityofDepok(untilthenapartoftheRegency)was
unifiedwithsomeneighbouringdistrictsofBogor
RegencytoformanautonomouscityofDepok
(independentoftheRegency)andBogorcityisalso
anautonomouscity(similarlyindependentofthe
Regency).
IntheresidualareaoftheRegency,the2010census
counted4,770,744people,ofwhich2,450,426are
male.Thelatestofficialestimate(forJanuary2014)is
5,131,798.[2]Giventhattheregencycovers
2,663.83km2afterthespinoffsofBogorandDepok
cities,thedensitystandsat1,926peopleperkm2.[3]
