Sukoharjoisaregency(Indonesian:kabupaten)intheCentralJavaprovinceinIndonesia.Itscapitalis
Sukoharjo,about10kmsouthfromSurakarta.ThisregencyisborderedbySurakartainthenorth,
KaranganyarRegencyintheeast,WonogiriRegencyandYogyakartainthesouthaswellasKlaten
Regencyinthewest.

Geography
BengawanSolo"divides"thisregencyintotwoparts.Thenorthernpartiscommonlylowlandandwavy,
whilethesouthernpartismountainous.
NeartheborderarethedevelopmentalareasofSurakartaCitysuchasGrogolandKartosuro.Kartosurois
thejunctionoftheSoloYogyakartatrackwithSoloSemarang.SukoharjoRegencyiscrossedbySolo
Wonogirirailway,whichreoperatedin2004afterbeingunusedformanyyears.Thisrailwayisoneofthe
most"dangerous"onesinIndonesiabecauseitislocatedbesidethemainroadwithoutanybreaker.

Administrativedivision
SukoharjoRegencyisdividedinto12districts(kecamatan).TheyareBaki,Bendosari,Bulu,Gatak,
Grogol,Kartosuro,Mojolaban,Nguter,Polokarto,Sukoharjo,TawangsariandWeru.Thedistrictsare
subdividedintovariousdesaandkelurahan.TheadministrativecenterislocatedinSukoharjo.
