Convert XSD/DTD/WSDL or sample XML document

to COPYBOOK with XML Thunder Lite.

This document will provide you with easy to understand, step-by-step instructions including screen captures on
how to convert your XML sample or XML schema (XSD) to COBOL data structure/COPYBOOK. This process is very
quick and can be done in less than a minute.
Start XML Thunder Lite and select New:

Start the Wizard:

Select the following options on the Wizard and point to your XSD, DTD, WSDL or sample XML file:

On the XML side:

If you have an XSD or DTD or WSDL file select the first radio button; If you have a sample XML document than select the second
radio button.
Select your XSD, DTD, WSDL or sample XML file
On the IDS side select the Derive from XML

Select root element if more than one exist:

Review Summary information and click on Finish:

Click on Close for the XML Handler Create message box:

On the left hand side click on Physical IDS to see the generated COBOL structure and click on Save at the left
bottom to save it:
