My name is Matthew Lee and I am writing this letter of recommendation letter on behalf of Ms.
Rhonda Jones-Labonte, employee candidate for the position of Program Manager with the
Department of Children and Family Services, (DCF). I am the Senior Clinician at the
Southeastern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, (SCADD), New London location. I
have had the privilege and honor of working closely with Rhonda for the past year and half,
during which time I provided direct supervision and guidance while she worked the position of
Mental Health/Substance Abuse Clinician with great proficiency.
Over the past 18 months I have witnessed a significant transformation in Ms. Jones Labonte as
her natural leadership and supervisory skills and education and work experience, have surfaced
and have been recognized by not only myself, but also senior management. Rhonda has been
promoted to Clinical Supervisor and has flawlessly held this position for 5 months. I have been,
and continue to be, inspired by her dedication, determination, and exemplary performance.
As the Clinical Supervisor Ms. Jones-Labonte initiated and implemented programs, policies and
procedures and regulations for the managers that she supervises which has subsequently
improved productivity and morale. Rhonda is extremely well organized, creative, detail oriented
and she consistently demonstrates proficiency. As a result of these qualities Ms. Jones-Labonte
has been chosen as coordinator for a, Train the Trainer, program to implement agency wide
electronic health records. I am confident that Rhonda will be a vital asset to any organization
and highly recommend her for the position of Program Manager.
Although I realize if Ms. Jones-Labonte resigns from SCADD it would be a great loss to
SACADD, the clients, and me, I still write this letter of recommendation without any hesitation
or reservations and I fully endorse her decision to continue to grow as a leader and manager. If
