CA27559 46, : TABLE OF CONTENT Introduction: This Report Addresses Three Issues at Bent W6 Footing Section 1: As-Built Pile/Footing Survey from Cooner and Assoc, and Fig. Centroi Calculation Soe Section Section 3: Anchorage Development Length Calculation 428 Introduction: This Report Addresses Three Issues at Bent W6 Footing 1) The as-built pile deviations for Interior Bent W6 were checked for the change i centroid of the pile group, pile cover, and change in pile spacing, and whether pile anchorage dowels are required for piles with minimum cover. 2) Pile anchorage dowels are specified for one Pile (#14) as it encroaches onto the left edge of the footing and has only 9” of side cover to the edge of the footing. 3) The survey performed by Cooner and Associates was used to confirm that the ‘overall footing dimensions meet the design intent. Specifically the South, West and North faces were formed slightly larger than the plan conerete dimensions, ‘but also the East face was approximately 1 1/8” shy of the plan dimensions. A centroid calculation confirms that the footing and pile out of tolerances meet the design intent and are structurally adequate. Field measurements confirm that all sides contain the minimum clearances. Conclusion: indicates the following results: 1. The centroid of the pile group for the footing is within the 3” tolerance. 2, Piles 4, 14 and 20 are 3” or more out of tolerance, with pile 20 being the worst at 0.38-ft out of plan location. 3. Pile #14 is at the minimum 9” required side cover: therefore, anchored pile details are required for this pile. 4. All reinforcement shall be placed per the contract drawings and shall maintain equal spacing between the as-built piles; this will require that temperature steel bottom mat be added to maintain the maximum spacing shown in the plans. Methodology: ‘The change of location for each pile was determined by superimposing the plan layout and the as-built layout of the pile grouping. By doing so, it was determined that piles 4, 14, and 20 did not meet the 3” tolerance requirement. The pile group was checked for the change in the centroid and to verify proper pile cover.
