ENDOCRINOLOGY #7

CHART NOTE
The patient is a 71-year-old female was noted to have slowly enlarging lesion on the
right lower thyroid. Skin appears to be a cold nodule. Thyroid functions are within
normal limits. Findings on respiration appear to be a Hurthle cell adenoma. The patients
physical examination revealed a 2 1x1 mass at the right upper pole of the thyroid where
no lymph nodes are palpable. Patient was moderately obese otherwise but was
unremarkable. The patient did have a aspiration of the right neck and is found and reveal
full of mass at the right lower thyroid and a total thyroid lobectomy was performed. The
left lobe was totally unremarkable and was not resected.

FINAL DIAGNOSIS: Hurthle adenoma at the right lower thyroid with Hurthle cells
change.
