APC-1-410L FabriPulse’ Model B Pulse-Jet Fabric Dust Collector el FabriPulse’ Fabric Dust Collectors...The Problem Solvers FabriPulse pulse-jet fabric dust collectors are used by industry throughout the world to remove particulate from process and general ventilation air as well as to recover valuable resources from many manufacturing processes. As a standard of the industry, FabriPulse FabriPulse Assembly dust collectors have long been one of the most diverse product lines available for air pollution control. The Model B FabriPulse collector adds a new dimension of versatility, allowing you to select the best size and design to solve your dust control problem. TWO INLET CHOICES FOR OPTIMUM CLEANING EFFICIENCY The Model B FabriPulse collector design offers either top entry or hopper entry to meet the needs of your particular applications. For a fine dust (such as talc), on applications with light dust concen- trations and with higher air-to-cloth ratios, top entry is the proven method. Pioneered by AAF, top entry generates a downtlow of air throughout the collector. Because the air flow is downward, it aids rather than impedes the migration of fine particulate towards the hopper. For both methods of entry, precise baffling in the Model B FabriPulse collector helps distribute air evenly throughout the unit for maximum leaning efficiency of each bag. cut-away View of Hoppa nat For applications with a heavy, coarse dust (such as sand) and high dust loads which require air-to-cloth ratios of 6:1 or less, hopper entry is the usual choice, Heavy particulate in the lower velocity air stream associated with low air-to-cloth ratios naturally gravitates to the hopper. oO Pulse-Jet Cleaning for Effective Fabric Reconditioning The filter bags in the FabriPulse dust collector are reconditioned with pulses of compressed air which are initiated by either a solid-state electronic timer or an electronic differential pressure switch. Small bursts of high pressure air are directed from the surge tank through the Pulse pipe and exit the pulse pipe orifices as jets of air at sonic velocity. The jet of air expands as it travels from the ortice to the venturi, inducing more cleaning air into the jet stream. The venturi acis to seal the top of the bag, allowing a shock wave to form and travel to the bottom of the bag. Horizontal pressure is formed inside the bag, expanding the fabric and dislodging the dust from the outside of the bag. The bag receives a secondary cleaning as the pulse of air bounces back up in the bag. Pulse-jet cleaning provides effective on-line reconditioning of the fabric without interrupting the air flow through the collector. Since pulse-jet collectors operate at higher filtering velocities, they are much smaller than corresponding fabric collectors which are cleaned by either mechanical shaking or low pressure reverse air. The top plenum contains the tube sheet with its pulse-cleaning system and is manufactured to precise quality and ‘engineering standards. To minimize leakage, housings and hoppers feature all-welded construc- tion 12 gauge or heavier reinforced steel plate. For smaller sizes the housing and hopper may be ordered as a single welded subassembly. On large sizes the housing and hop- pers normally ship as separate mod- ules that can be welded or bolted together on-site. MAINTENANCE EASE Top access to filter bags and pulse hardware makes servicing the FabriPulse collector easy. Pulse pipes, serving 12 bags per valve, Pc Exploded View of FabriPulse Components Cut-Away View of FabriPulse Collector interior are joined to large pulse valves by a quick disconnect device and can be readily removed. The venturi and cage form an integral assembly requiring no tools for removal. CONVENIENT BAG REMOVAL ‘The FabriPulse collector bag sealing method utilizes a collapsible stain- less steel patented Snap-Band sewn into the end of the filter bag for easy insertion and removal. The bag is, removed by collapsing the snap-band and lifting the bag out of the tube sheet. Replacement is done easily ‘Bag, Cage and Venturi Assembly by suspending the bag through the tube sheet opening. Then collapse the snap-band and insert it into the tube sheet, allowing it to expand into position. Slide the cage and venturi assembly down into the bag. Broad Choice of Standard Options HOPPERS The FabriPulse collector is available with all-welded pyramid hoppers on all sizes and designs. A trough hopper is available on size 132 and larger. LEG EXTENSIONS Standard leg height provides a 4 tt. clearance from the hopper outlet to the base. Leg extensions in 6-inch increments providing up to &-foot hopper clear- ance are available. NEMA 9 CONTROLS Solenoid pilot boxes and control panel with NEMA 9 rating are available, Technical Data EQUIPMENT SIZE 12-48-770 Tota square fet otmecia Number tease Bag rena RESISTANCE ACROSS COLLECTOR A fairly constant pressure drop across the collector is maintained because of the continuous cleaning of the bags. The pressure drop will vary with the velocity of air through the media (or air-to-cloth ratio), temperature of the gas stream, dust loading, fineness and characteristics of the dust, and the type of fabric used. In most cases, pressure drop will range from 3 inches to 7 inches, wg) HIGH TEMPERATURE CONSTRUCTION For elevated gas temperatures, high temperature gasketing and factory- installed insulation are available. EXPLOSION VENTS Explosion vents for positive or nega~ tive pressure systems are available.
