Once upon a time there was a girl named Halaki, who lived in the far
land of Kapolei. My name is Jade, and Ill be sharing a short story on
the life of my classmate and new friend, Halaki who is now a
sophomore. Halaki got in to Kamehameha in kindergarten and has
been best friends with Sommer since they were in 5th grade and also
considers Riley and Rey some of her best friends, whom she met last
summer. She loves eating at Paesano, an Italian restaurant in Aiea and
often orders the clam pasta. She is a Christian and often spends her
time helping out at her church with her friends. Halaki enjoys ballet in
her free time and is an excellent dancer at Honolulu classical ballet,
ballet Hawaii, and Hawaii state ballet. One day, about a year ago,
Halaki submitted a video audition to a ballet program in New York with
high hopes. The audition was for a summer intensive program in
Manhattan, and incredibly, she was accepted. But, soon after Halaki
and her family realized they could not afford such an expensive
program. After that unfortunate ending, Halakis instructor at Honolulu
classical ballet ended up selecting her for a duo ballet performance
and she became close friends with her dance partner (Jason), and
together they did very well in their spring showcase. Halaki loves the
life she has and so I guess you could say she is living out her happily
ever after.
