MDD 5: TOMA DE DECISIONES Y ANALISIS DE RESULTADOS.
In this section several issues are going to be addressed. Knowledge, skills,
classroom management, to name a few. These reflections are made after the class with a 9th and a 10th grade. When referring to the 9th grade, students seem to have a good level of understanding English, yet they dont seem to have the skills to put all that knowledge into word. In other words, their receptive skills are very well reinforced, yet at the moment of producing language they have some difficulties. In terms of knowledge they have the same bad habit that most of students have, the study for the test yet after approving they forget about everything, making the teachers labor harder, as he has to review over and over again the same topics as he tries to connect all content. Finally in terms of classroom management, the students are overall well behaved, with some exceptions. No control group strategies are needed to maintain the flow of the class. Something similar happens with the 10th grade group. This group seem to be more accurate and they demonstrate a good level of English in any of the skills. With this group I tried to reinforce the productive skills as they seem to have some minimal flaws, such as mispronunciations, minimal grammar mistakes. Even though they had the skills to work with the language they faced the same issue than the 9th grade, they study for the state and they forget everything after they approved the test. With this group was a bit harder to maintain the flow of the class as they were very talkative and few couples were in the group. In several times control group strategies were needed. As a final reflection, I can say that as a teacher I need to improve in terms of classroom management and the way I deliver instructions. On the other hand, I would keep my way to address certain issues that the students might have, and also I consider, and also my students, that my classes are engaging.
