Guitar-maker luthier Kim

Lissarrague Lattice concert

classical guitar Australia
Kim Lissarague was one of our first choices for his ability to design modern guitars that retain the
elegance and characteristics of traditional instruments enhanced by incomparable power and harmonic
richness.
Biography
Kim Lissarague designed his first guitars in 1991 at the age of 13. Prompted by his love of music and
working with wood, he taught himself the basics of guitar-making.
Having learned his trade from the Australian guitar-maker Peter Riffin, he decided to concentrate on
making acoustic instruments and, as a guitarist, became passionate about guitars.
During the 2000s, he worked with James and Mary Cargil and perfected his art. His initial training was
classical, inspired by the guitar-making of Ignacio Fleta and Robert Bouchet.
New construction techniques were developed by Australian guitar-makers such as Grard Gilet, Robin
Moyes and Jim Williams. Kim Lissarague worked to perfect his own model inspired by the Australian
school. These instruments have acquired a worldwide reputation and are played by internationallyfamous concert artistes such as Izhar Elias in Holland.

His guitars
His guitars offer fabulous sound projection, a warm sound, a long sustain, complex tones rich in
harmonics with resonant high notes and deep, cello-style bass notes.
His guitar-making is particularly sophisticated and he uses premier-quality wood essences. If youre
looking for power, sound volume and a high level of musicality, youll love Kims guitars.
