1.1 Multitasking
When playing Tom and Jerry: Fists of Furry, no other program should be open in t
he background. For optimum results, make sure you close all programs before laun
ching Tom and Jerry: Fists of Furry, including current programs on the icon bar
next to the clock on the Windows 9x task bar.
If you have to go back into Windows during the game, we advise you to quit the g
ame by pressing the [ESC] key, then select 'Quit' in the following menus to retu
rn to Windows.
The [ALT+TAB] function can be accessed while the game is running. However, we ad
vise you not to use it too often so as not to slow down the game's performance.
1.2 Various suggestions for increasing the game's running speed
You can deactivate certain elements to make the game run faster. In the main men
u, click on the Options menu. From here, you can personalize levels of detail an
d game graphics by modifying sound, graphics and advanced options for optimal pe
rformance on your computer.
You are strongly advised against using the minimum installation if your computer
and hard-disk capacity allow a full installation.
For optimal performance, it is advisable to defragment your hard disk. Windows c
omes with a utility which enables you to defragment your hard disk.
1.3 DirectX help
If you encounter problems when installing and/or running Tom and Jerry: Fists of
Furry, make sure that your computer has version 8.0 or higher of DirectX. You c
an install DirectX from the Tom and Jerry: Fists of Furry CD. You can also obtai
n the most recent version from Microsoft (www.microsoft.com/directx). This site
also provides help in resolving problems that are frequently encountered with Di
rectX.
A note for WIN95 users, a later version of DirectX 8.0a will not function on WIN
95
1.4 Updating drivers
IMPORTANT:
The first thing to do to resolve any problem encountered with Tom and Jerry: Fis
ts of Furry is to update the drivers and all your PC's components. Most problems
are caused by drivers which have not been updated or correctly loaded.
Visit the manufacturers' sites for your sound, video and 3D cards to find out ab
out the latest available drivers.
2. VARIOUS SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVING THE GAME EXPERIENCE IN MULTIPLAYER MODE
- There are 1 and 2 player modes.
- The game does support 2 players on 1 PC. The game supports any DirectX compati
ble device capable of returning button input. I.e. Keyborad, joypad and joystick
.,but not mouse.
