Eugenia has a beautiful, rich tone! Its a rather light tone quality, because
the song is quick and light and dance-like. There are very few signs of
breathiness in her tone throughout the piece. I absolutely love the sound of
each of her trills. She must have had very relaxed hands and fingers, as it
wouldve been nearly impossible to achieve each one of her runs with
tension. Her articulations are fantastic and so clean and crisp. I love her
dynamic contrast and overall expression throughout the song; she sought to
tell a story and made the music go somewhere. Although there werent
many instances, her transitions between registers were very clean; she
knows exactly how to form her embouchure for any jump or transition. I was
quite disappointed though that this was only an audio recording and not a
video recording. I wouldve liked to see how her physical expression
compared to her audible expressions through her playing. However,
Eugenias sound was wonderful! Her attention to stylistic details, especially
through her articulations, really brought this piece to life. What a wonderful
performance!
