After reading the catalogue from cover to cover, I could not wait to see the exhibition at The Dowse and once there | wished that | had more time to scan the results of the Curators’ fishing trip. So, 'm happy that Wunderrdma is now in ‘Auckland and that it will be here for a while to give us all the chance to have a really good look. | wanted to curate another Contemporary Jewellery show and had been waiting to come up with a really good idea. One day whilst sampling a few craft beers with Raewyn and Sharon we somehow (after one or two) decided that a show called “Beer Saved the World” could be a good concept... the next day | couldn't quite remember what our rationale was. Later when | heard that Wunderrama was going to be touring to Auckland Art Gallery and that the Jewellers Guild of Greater Sandringham were looking for artists to do pop up shows for \Wunderwiki - I thought that R.A.W. [Reactions after Wunderriima] would be a good starting point for a show and provide a bit of context and perhaps a chance for artists to put forward raw and conceptual works, Thirty-two artists are involved in R.AW., including three from Australia and one from the USA - with strong connections to Aotearoa New Zealand. R.A.W. is the biggest of the ‘pop up’ shows in Wunderwiki. Four months is not a lot of time to bring together such a big exhibition — so maybe it is abit ‘raw’.
