Loin Sea!

Dear 3rd District Resident:
It probably won't come as a surprise to you, but | strongly believe it's time for a change in leadership
in the 3 District, where Bob Streit has been your Trustee for almost 25 years.
Last year our Village Board wanted to put Term Limits on the hallot and Trustee Streit voted “No”, but
an overwhelming majority of residents - almost 90% - disagreed with Trustee Streit and approved
them. And this disconnect between Trustee Streit and 3” District residents is not limited to just Term
Limits
| have heard from many, many residents who have complained about their requests for service going
unanswered and their calls and inquiries being routinely ignored. Residents who have complained
about only hearing from Trustee Streit when he asks for political donations, or when he runs for re-
election and pressures them to take one of his lawn signs.
Because of all this | asked to meet with the two candidates running against Trustee Streit.
| found J.J. Zurek to be a nice man, but | don't believe he has a good understanding of the serious
issues our Village is facing. He told me his primary reason for running was to address the trouble at
Memorial Park, which I explained was under the authority of the Oak Lawn Park District, not the
Village. | also didn’t get the feeling that he was prepared to roll-up his sleeves and tackle the hard
work that needs to be done for our residents.
After meeting with Scott Hollis | came away impressed with his grasp of the issues and his ideas to
move Oak Lawn forward. | think Scott Hollis will bring energy and enthusiasm to the 3" District
Trustee seat, and | believe he genuinely cares about doing the right thing for Oak Lawn.
To be clear, neither Mr. Zurek nor Mr. Hollis asked me for an endorsement. | am doing this on my
own because we are facing serious challenges and we need elected officials who won't ignore those
challenges or try to exploit them for political gain.
| believe this is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive change in the 3" District, and the power to
make that change lies in your hands! | truly hope you will help Oak Lawn move forward by voting for
Scott Hollis for 3" District Trustee.
Sincerely,
LE om
