Reflection

Franco Benyamin
During todays discussion about the end of the book, I really
learned a lot from my peers and was happy I was able to contribute to
such a lively discussion. Todays discussion helped me put into
perspective what really colonialism did to Africans in Africa with the
invasion of the Europeans. Obviously it was bad, but it was very sad to
see how the Igbo of Umuofia really lost power and became hopeless to
the European tactics. Towards the end of the discussion, I really liked
what Samar said about how killing ones self was a savage thing to do
(Okonkwo) and how she explained it. It stuck with me and made me
think at what measures people went to to keep their cultures alive and
what they believe in live. I really liked this book because it had a great
impact and made me see the lions side.
