oetry deals with the emotions, as does music. An autobiographical poem is personal- it reveals something about
the author. Below is a simple plan to help you write your own portrait poem. Your poem should be typed, or
written in ink on a piece of computer paper. (Feel free to use the other side of this page.) It should contain 3-10
graphics (pictures, designs, etc.) that go along with your poem. The rubric must be attached to the assignment.

Line 2 (four words about you) _________________________________________________________________________
Line 3 (brother of or sister of) _______________________________________________________________________
Line 4 (lover of list three things you love) _______________________________________________________________
Line 5 (Who feels 3 things) ___________________________________________________________________________
Line 6 (Who needs and then three ) ___________________________________________________________________
Line 7 (who fears 3 things that scare you) _______________________________________________________________
Line 8 (who would like to see 3 things) _________________________________________________________________
Line 9 (resident of where you live) ____________________________________________________________________
Line 10 (last name) __________________________________________________________________________________

Sister of Jeanne
Lover of sewing, singing, and books,
Who feels joy when helping others, power when going hiking, and alive when reading to her grandkids,
Who needs laughter, friends, and family,
Who fears spiders, darkness, and death,
Who would like to see the mountains, her grandkids go to college, and a cure for cancer,
Resident of the little green cottage on the river,
