For vertical vessels, less than 900mm diameter, the top head shall be flanged. In horizontal vessels, the manway shall be preferably located on the vesse! head, away from the end that has internals such as internal displacers or baffles. In trayed columns, manways shall be provided above top tray, below the bottom tray, at the feed tray, at any other tray at which removable internals are located, and at intermediate points so that the maximum spacing of manways in the trayed section does not exceed 10 meters 5.1.4.5.5.
