In PR, 60-70% pregnancies are not planned. Majority find help in 4-8 weeks of
gestation.
Already have neural tube can have teratogen exposure.
Important exposition.
Most common causes of infant mortality in PR: low birth weight/prematurity and
congenital anomalies.
Background risk for major congenital anomalies is approximately: 3%.
