QUICK REFERENCE |
TERRORIST / GUNMAN (Lock Down)
Remove students from hallways.
2) Lock classroom door.
3) Call office to initiate LOCK DOWN.
4) Call 911 yourself if you feel the need.
5) Position children on floor out of line of gunfire.
6) Account for students.
7) Communicate with office if you have pertinent information.
8) Wait for an “All Clear” directive.
DEMONSTRATIONS / DISTURBANCES
1) All faculty should record events that occur in that vicinity.
2) Continue to maintain normal classroom activities.
3) Individual fear / emotions must be controlled.
4) If-situation is a threat to staff or student’s safety, call 911
STUDENT OUT OF CONTROL (Crisis Prevention Intervention Team)
1) Contact Office or send student to nearest classroom teacher and they will make call for
assistance.
2) Contact office or send a student to nearest classroom teacher and they will make call for
CPI assistance.
3) Give location of the crisis.
4) Respect and honor the student's personal space if possible.
5) Remove the other students.
6) Do not act alone.
BLIZZARDS
1) Follow Principal or Designee’s directives.
FIRE PROCEDURES
1) Sound the nearest fire alarm,
2) Evacuate the building.
3) Insure all occupants are evacuated to predetermined points of assembly outside and away
from the building (check lavatories, study rooms, ete).
4) When possible, student attendance records and class lists will be taken by building staff in
the event of any evacuation.
5) Fire evacuation routes are to be clearly posted in each room where students and/or staff
assemble.
6) Account for students.
TORNADO & THUNDERSTOR! NINGS
1) Evacuate to predetermined shelter area (at tornado warning).
2), If outdoors without shelter, lie flat in a nearby ditch with head shielded by arms.
3) Tomado Safe Maps are to be clearly posted in each room where students and staff
assemble.
4) Ifon campus, return immediately to building.
