Q3

The median is the value at the center of the sorted data it divides the lower half from the upper half. There is not a clear number for the first and
third quartile so the two numbers closest to the quartiles are added and divided by two. A green circle indicates these numbers also note that the
data is sorted out evenly into four sections which quart means four. The next step is to figure out the Interquartile Range (Iqr) and we find this out by
subtracting the number in quartile 3 by the number in quartile 1. In this case the numbers were 142.5 for Q3 and 120.5 for Q1 the resulting Iqr is 22.
To find the Upper and Lower extreme values we follow the formula of Iqr * 1.5 (22 * 1.5 = 33) then we subtract the product with Q1 (120.5 22 =
98.5) this means that the lower extreme can not be lower than 98.5 in this case out lowest number is 116 since it is not lower than 98.5 it qualifies as
the lower extreme. To find the upper extreme we add the resulting product from the formula previously explained to Q3 (142.5 + 22 = 167.5 ) this
means that the highest number can not be more than 167.5 and our highest number that qualifies as the upper extreme is 166. Since 170 and 185
are more than 167.5 they are considered to be outliers, an outlier is a piece of data or value that is separated from the rest of the data. The box plot
below further illustrates the data. The black dots indicate the lower and upper extremes while the dots inside the orange circles indicate the outliers.
