Reflection Letter
Walking into Professor Raymonds room for the first time was a very intimidating
experience for me. While in high school, my teachers told me how much reading and writing I
would be assigned on a nightly basis in college. Because of this, stepping my foot into my first
college writing class was a very frightening moment for me. Although my teachers werent
completely wrong about the work load that comes with college, I feel as if they made it sound
harder than it really is. I have overcame a lot of educational hurdles that stood in my way to
success prior to taking Professor Raymonds class during these six weeks.
Over this intense writing course, I feel that I learned how to manage my time more
efficiently. Procrastination was a very big problem for me prior to attending this program.
Another hurdle I faced this semester was controlling my stress level. Whenever I had an
assignment due I tended to work myself up to a very extreme level. Having this constant stress
on my body took a very impacting toll on my health. Looking back on the course, I really
enjoyed all that it had to offer me. My favorite assignment that we had to do that was family tree
project. Finding information about where my family originated from was a very powerful
experience for me. My least favorite project was creating my literacy narrative. Unfortunately, no
matter what I did, I could not get excited about that project. My best work this semester has been

my family tree project. Although I received better grades on other assignments this semester, I
feel that I was the most passionate about the family tree project.
In conclusion, I overall liked the course. Professor Raymond was a fun and relatable
person who really knows how to get a message across affectively. Not only will I take the
presentation skills that Ive obtained with me, but I will also take all of the conversations we had
as a group
