DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS CIVIL UNREST APRIL 28 & 29, 2015 '® The Department of Public Works is responsible for coordinating and managing the clearing of roadways and boarding of damaged buildings ‘¢ The Debris Management Center was activated at Park Terminal Emergency Operations Center staffed by DPW (Executive and Solid Waste staff), DOT and DGS © Trash pickup remains on schedule © No water pressure issues to report '® Fueling stations at Patapsco and Back River Wastewater Treatment Plants are available for Police, Fire, and National Guard if needed © Volunteers are helping to clean heavily impacted neighborhoods and are asked to call 311 (open 24 hours) © Citizens cleaning their neighborhood streets are encouraged to push debris to the curbs and put a service request into 311. © 311 is also accepting new calls for debris blocking roadways # Pro-active boarding of damaged buildings Eva 115 Acti ‘¢ Activated DPW Emergency Operations Center as the Debris Management Center at 4 am © Coordinated effort with representatives from DPW — Solid Waste, DOT (towing of burned vehicles), DGS for fleet management and fuel service, and Recreation & Parks for the removal of any tree debris, ‘¢ Began Deploying crews of dump trucks, tow trucks, bob cats, sweepers, and shovels and bodies based on debris type and severity of damage, safety of area (areas scouted by 5 DOT and 15 DPW personnel) ‘© EOC staff has collected all incident locations from the internet and Fire Dept and dispatched to investigators. Investigators are reporting in disabled vehicles, buildings to be boarded, and heavy debris. These are being dispatched by DOT and Solid Wastes EOC staff. Solid Wastes is also proactively sweeping affected streets. © Resources: © 7 DOT tow trucks working on burnt vehicles. © 3 crews from Recreation and Parks cleaning locations 9 1Solid Waste bobcat 9 12 sweepers and 4 hand crews Crews first 3 cleaning locations: Fulton Avenue between North and Division (cleared); Pennsylvania between North and Bloom (cleared); MLK and Saratoge ¢ Next 2 locations: Mondawmin near the bus loop; Gwynns Fall along the mall parking lot. ‘¢ Property Management crews boarding damaged buildings based on feedback from the inspectors and news reports ‘© Roving Loadpacker scouting all the volunteer clean up locations to remove all debris (©.
