Things Students Want to Know:

1) Am I in the right room?
a. I will be standing outside the classroom to welcome all the students
and help limit any confusion you may have about being in the right
classroom.
2) Where am I supposed to sit?
a. The first day there will be assigned seating. Your name will be on your
desk, after the first day students will have the ability to chose their
own seating arrangements.
3) What are the rules of the classroom?
a. There will be a copy of the class syllabus, class rules, and class policies
and procedures on your desk when you walk into class.
4) What will I be doing this year?
a. I will go though the lesson plan and the class policies and procedures
so there is no confusion.
5) How will I be graded?
a. This will be discussed during the first week; students will be graded
on a letter scale (A-F).
6) Who is the teacher as a person?
a. I will introduce myself the first day of class and will tell you a little
about myself.
7) Will the teacher treat me as a human being?
a. I will treat everyone in my classroom with respect. I will treat all my
students as adults and this means giving them the responsibility to be
accountable for everything they do while they are in my class.
