The same day as Michael Jackson's, She traveled the world and she’s only 17 years old. She lived in Hawaii and Germany. She also visited many countries all over the world. She visited many countries in Europe such as: France, Amsterdam, the UK and many, many more. She also visited countries Asia. She's a (yyyyyy y [ military brat. Her mom is in the Air Force and her dad is in the Army. Currently she lives in Kaiserslautern, Germany. A military base on the west side of Germany. She’s lived there for two and a half years with her mom. She says she doesn’t like living there becausp‘he area she lives in is very prejudice. She says she looks cifferci from everyone off base/When Eryca gets off base to the city of Ramstein “everyone” has pale skin with blqnde hgif and blue eyes while she is, a black girl with natural hair. Eryca loves traveling the world but she says her real home is in America, She wouldn't stay in a foreign country for a long period of time. When speaking to her about the places she visited and lived, she almost seem desensitized. She talked about these places as if they were normal and not special. I confused me because I would love to visit half the places she’s visited ¢{ ‘and would love to absorb the culture and history of the destination. She spoke about GermanyTrice 2 and France as if they were as special as Columbia, South Carolina (where we grew up). This made me think about the about all the things she takes for granted and it almost made me angry to think she’s not taking advantage of the opportunity she has. As I ended the conversation with het upset I took a moment to think and reflec, Ishe fet the same emotions (or lack of toward midoodk \ Columbia as she did Germany and Hawaii. This made me appreciate where I came from. Many People would die for the opportunity to live in America, to live in a small city like Columbia, South Carolina.
