Magic Introduction/Summary: “What is Black Girl Magic? Blogger Lindsey gives her definition of Black Girl Magic as “that sprinkle of magic that embodies our sassiness, our sharpness, our talent, wit, beauty, style, [and] skill...” (Lindsey). However, our own personal definition of Black Girl Magic is a feeling and sense of pride that encompasses everything wonderful about black women; many times over-looked by our society. Tired of being oppressed by society’s twisted standards of what is acceptable and beautiful, black women in our generation have decided to stand up and fight back. Black Girl Magic, a movement that is constantly growing, has taken social media sites by storm and has become a community that is providing suppor for black girls universally. As a result ofthis topic being so broad, we decided to focus on three > (yplack women, and how black women are peresived BY 0 incorporate many aspects of Black Girl Magic y cur peers in addition to black women We are Pearce and Davis 2 Project Plan: Fi ill begi rst, we will begin by researching our three main subtopics of Black Girl Magic. In addition to combining research, we will also interview men and women on campus and off. i ‘to get their opinions/personal beliefs on what black girl magic means to them and why th itinesd : ey feel it is so important in today’s society. We are also prepared to receive negative feedback and are willing to incorporate that data into our project to show contrast and our understanding that not all people support or believe in this new, fresh, and innovative movement. Justification: Our proposed plan for this project is effective because each of us will have time to conduct our own research, as well as, interview a select group of individuals before collaborating. By doing this, we both get to incorporate things that we feel are important for the chosen topic. When we then come together, we will also be able to critique our work as a team. We will split the responsibility of finding sources; therefore, we will Roles & Responsi each need to find four sources each and interview or gather personal statements from 3-4 people ‘as well, After all research has been conducted and data has been gathered we will be able to move forward and complete our Prezi presentation together.
