Intro to Philosophy 1000

Reflections on Philosophy
Philosophy is normally not a subject that I am interested in. After taking the
Philosophy class I started to enjoy the argumentative side of things, and pushing the
limits on reasoning with life around me and the differences all around us. Looking in
depth in the idea of self, politics, economics, and religion really got me thinking about
everything that goes on and how it got there. I believe this class has improved my critical
thinking and making a better argumentative person, as in regards to not just getting
angered and letting my emotions dictate my actions, but really being able to think about
the question or belief and fighting on the side of reason and facts.
I think one of the toughest things about this class is to question the things I
believe in. I think regardless of what one believes, some are comfortable where they are
in their lives, and making them question themselves and their beliefs can destroy a
person. Having a solid belief system and ground to walk on in life is an important thing.
This class gave me more open-mindedness about people around me, without disgust or
disrespect for their beliefs or ideas about life.
