ATCO Pipelines
4533 Richards Way
Edmonton, AB, T3R 9P6
(403) 123- 4590
Subject: Highway 14 closures and concerns.

Dear residents:
ATCO Pipelines prides itself in prioritizing the health and safety of the communities we operate
in, as well as of our employees. As a recent effort to further improve our safety and prevent 95
per cent of future incidents, we will be replacing pipelines near Highway 14, which will close
from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on April 24 and 27 from Holden to Riley, and on April 25 and 28 from
Riley to Tofield.
Some of you have sent us your concerns and inquiries about the safety implications and the high
traffic volume the move could result in. Thus, we want to assure you that we are working to
make this venture as smooth as possible, with minimal interference with the expected traffic of
the area. We are committed to operate safely and responsibly, striving to limit your
inconvenience as much as possible.
We realize the project coincides with the Snow Goose Chase and the farming season; events our
company supports and encourages. However, this project is imminent and essential to ensure our
pipelines maximum performance. Rescheduling would mean an indefinite delay that could lead
to preventable injury in the operation site. Since the move will take place from 4 to 7 p.m., the
transportation to the Snow Goose Chase is likely to be unaffected by our presence on the road.
This time will also allow farmers to work uninterrupted for most of the day. However, there
could be delays during the rush hour period, for which we apologize and ask for your patience
and cooperation.
Leading this operation will be Cruz Carriers, a reputable company with more than 27 years of
experience, which is known for haul and delivery of heavy duty in a safe and efficient way. We
have a shared responsibility to ensure your well being, and guarantee the project is completed in
a timely fashion. We are confident that with your help, we can perform the pipeline replacement
without incidents and minimum traffic congestion.
We greatly appreciate your support and feedback; please do not hesitate to contact us with any
questions.
Sincerely,
Wilma Charon
