people back home. His initiatives have helped many and this made him the most loved
NRI (Non-Resident Indian) in India, especially in Kerala and as the saying goes

The noble deeds of P Mohamed Ali brought him close to another nobleman, who was
back then the first citizen of India and till now the most loved president of India, Late
APJ Abdul Kalam. The Governm ent of India (Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs)
started with an award ceremony called Pravasi Bharatiya Samman (Overseas Indian
Honour/Award) in the year 2003. This award is presented to all those Non -resident
Indians from any corner of the world whose contribution to India directly or indirectly
has been tremendous, it is presented by President of India such is the stature of it. In
the year 2004 the next year of this honours commencement, P Mohamed Ali was
honoured with this award by APJ Abdul kalam a nd the then prime minister Atal Bihari
Vajpai.
P Mohamed Ali encounter with Late APJ Abdul Kalam has been an event in itself which
made both of them proud to belong to a country called India.
