Technology to Support Communication

Using technology in todays classroom involves much more than turning on a computer.
It requires a lot of thought skills and planning. Teachers can utilize technology to communicate
with students and parents, measure students learning and separate instruction for all learning
styles and needs. Although technology is a great tool to be able to utilize, it can also be harmful
to students, teachers and parents. Teachers must also have a plan to protect students from
Internet predators, as well keep them safe. Teachers must teach technology appropriately, teach
students how to do so and teach the security safety on using it wisely and efficiently.
Communication Network has become an essential tool in todays educational
environment than ever before (Rahman, H. P 1. 2014). Distance education can be a powerful
way of education all over the world. For example: creating a website for teachers, students and
parents to utilize and everyone to see all over the world, can be beneficial on learning new
strategies. Although teaching the distance learners requires different skills to prepare relevant
learning materials to facilitate the construction of knowledge and learning (Rahman, H. P 1.
2014). Distance education learning it gives other a chance to learn different ways, new skills that
may not have the same qualification in different countries or same methods. Furthermore,

technology as also gave opportunities to complete education for those people who did not
complete education do to certain reasons.
Moreover, using computers in schools as improved students and teachers to be more
ethical have new skills, different strategies and knowledge on how to use computers and may
even become experts about computers. Teachers are utilizing these computers to give students a
chance to learn how computers work, research websites, create word documents and much more.
Students have and are becoming more knowledgeable on using technology. It is important that
these students have all the knowledge needed to be able to live in a world full of upcoming
technology which may require having in the future. Although it is important that teachers not
only teach how to utilize technology but as well the security safety. It is important to be safe and
protect students from the predators. The use of web technologies such as blogs, wikis, instant
massages, podcasts has compelled educators to be more imaginative and encouraged the use of
technology methods that are more stimulating and appealing to learners (Pineteh, A. P 3. 2012).
Teachers are also using education games to enhance students ability to think critically to
stimulate their learnings.
Blogs is another tool that teachers and students can utilize to communicate as well keep
up to date with school activities, homework and upcoming information. Furthermore, forum is
another great tool that teachers and students can utilize. Forums allows teachers and students to
be able to ask questions as an individual, or to class forum that other peers could see. Students
have a chance to communicate with other and develop social skills. Teachers utilize forums to
reach out to students, for coming up assignments, as well start a conversation based on the topic
and get feedbacks from students. This is important tool because it gives students the ability to
learn from others students and get new ideas. Forum provides an unrestricted space for students

to blog and exchange views on topics. Students are able to conceptualize and independently
facilitate discussion topics. It is a space designed and equipped with tools and virtual spaces for
discussion, free writing, debate and other social interactions between students (Pineteh, A. P 3.
2012). Although it is important to keep in mind even if it is a free writing, students, teacher must
remain a proper language and tone.
Moreover, teachers have to be able to address Internet security safety by communications
with students, and parents. In todays world technology is a great tool to have, but it does have
some negative sides to it. For example: it opens up the possibility of stalking, sexual
exploitation, fraud and criminal activities of all kids (Wallace, C. p11. 2012). Meaning it can be
very easily for students to download websites that are not appropriate, predators steal personal
information, that may lead to fraud and predators can also try to harm children. It is important
that teachers protect students from all of this. Teachers should have the skills and knowledge to
teach students utilizing Internet safe and apply security safety to systems, as well teaching them
to luck or log off from computer, accounts and ect.
In conclusion communications are very important in the success of any plan. The
knowledge of using technology is as well important to teach students how it work, what they can
do and how to be safe while using Internet. It is important that teachers have all of these skills to
provide a good education to students. Todays the use of technology is a big part in peoples
lives and also a big demand in future careers. Technology as made students to be more
interested, interact more, fun and willing to learn because teachers are able to include technology
in teaching lessons.
