In such a case, the socket shall be the rubber ring type socket equipped with the rubber ring for pressurized convey- | ance and non-pressurized conveyance and the adhesion type socket. Other length may be adopted according to the agreement between the parties concerned with delivery. Note The effective length shall be the full length of pipe from which the length of socket and the length of chamfer are subtracted. 7.3 Dimensions of socket The dimensions of rubber ring type socket and adhesion type socket for pressur- ized conveyance and non-pressurized conveyance for VP, HIVP, VM and VU shail be in accordance with tables 10 to 13. The dimensions different from those in tables 10 to 13 may be adopted according to the agreement between the parties concerned with delivery. The socket dimen- sions in the case of the pipes of nominal diameter not specified in tables 10 to 13 are processed to socket shall be subjected to the agreement between the parties con- cerned with delivery. 8 Materials 8.1 Material of pipes ‘The material of pipes shall be as follows. a) The material of unplasticized poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) pipes shall be mainly composed of polyvinyl chloride compounded with good quality stabilizer or pigment. Plasticizer or any material containing plasticizer shall not be used. b) The material of impact resistant unplasticized poly (vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) pipes shall be mainly composed of polyvinyl chloride and compounded with good quality stabilizer, pigment, or excellently weather resistant modifier that does not have adverse affect on pipes. Plasticizer or any material containing plasticizer shall not be used. 8.2 Material of rubber ring The material of rubber ring shall be in accordance with class I A specified in JIS K 6353. Rubber ring of other quelity may be used according to the agreement between the parti cerned, with delivery. 9 Test methods © 9.1 Performance test 9.1.1 Tensile test ~ The tensile test for pipes shall be in accordance with JIS K 6815-1:2002 and JIS K 6815-2. However, clauses 5 and 6 in JIS K 6815-1: 2002 may be replaced with the following. The outer surface of pipes shall be visually examined. ‘The test temperature shall be 23°C +2°C, The flat plates for compressing the test Piece shall be sufficiently larger than the deformed test piece when it has compressed to 1/2 the original dimension 9.1.5 Impact resistance test The impact resistance test of pipes shall be conducted in accordance with Annex JA. 9.1.6 Vicat softening temperature test The Vicat softening temperature test shall be conducted in accordance with ISO 2507-1:1995 and ISO 2507-2: 1995 9.1.7 Watertightness test The watertightness test of the joint part of pipes shall be conducted in accordance with EN 1053. NOTE: The summary of EN 1083 shall be as follows: ‘The test specimen is filled with water. The specimen may be inclined to 12° max in order to expel the air inside. Then the pressure is increased up to 50 kPa’): kPa and maintained for 15 min before the specimen is, examined for water leakage. The test temperature is 23°C + 5 °C. 9.1.8 Airtightness test The airtightness test of the joint part of pipes shall be conducted in accordance with EN 1054, NOTE: The summary of EN 1054 shall be as follows: The specimen is filled up to a half with water under the condition that it is laid horizontal. The air valve is opened to pressurize up to 10 kPa=1kPa, which is maintained for 5 min, then the presence of leakage of air and water is examined 9.1.9 Elevated temperature cycling efflux test ‘The elevatéd temperature cycling efflux test of pipe passage shall be conducted in accordance with EN 1055. NOTE: The summary of EN 1085 shall be as follows: The test piping is filled with water of 20 °C or lower and left to stand for 15 min before the piping is examined for presence of leakage. If leakage is not found, it is filled with warm water of 93 °C+2°C at the flow speed of 30 mm/L «0.5 mnv/L in the case of piping of outside diam- eter 40 mm or over and at 15 mm/L=0.5 mm/L in the case of those of outside diameter under 40 mm, taking the duration of at least 60 s. After the piping is left to stand for 1 min, the warm water is discharged. The Piping is then filled with cold water of 15 °C +5 °C taking the duration of at least. 60 s and after being left to stand for 1 min, the cold water is discharged. After this cycle is repeated 1 500 times, the test piping is filled with water of 20 °C or lower, and left to stand for 15 min as it is. The piping is then checked for the presence of leakage and the deflec- easured at the fixed position tion is PROTECTED BY COPYRIGHT 12 K 6741 : 2007 9.1.10 Flat sealing performance test The flat sealing performance test of joint part of pipes shall be conducted in ace cordance with EN 1277. NOTE: The summary of 1277 shall be as follows The specimen is filled with water under the condition where the straight part is flattened by 10 % and the socket part is flattened by 5 %. For the purpose'of making the temperature of specimen uniform, it is left for 5 min for outside diameter under 400 mm or for 15 min for out- side diameter 400 mm or over. It is Pressurized up to 0.05 bar + 10 %, kept for 15 min and checked for the presence of leakage. When the leak. age is not found, furthermore it is pressurized up to 0.5 bar +10 %, -0 %, kept for 15 min and then examined for the presence of leakage: Next, the water is discharged and the negative pressure of -0.3 bar: 5% is given and kept. After 15 min elapses, the internal pressure is confirmed. The temperature at the test place is 23 °C = 2 °C. 9.1.11 Bending sealing performance test ‘The bending sealing performance test of joint part of pipes shall be conducted in accordance with EN 1277 NOTE: The summary of EN 1277 shall be as follows ‘The pipe, under dition as specified in the flat sealing perfor- mance test, is subjected to further bending. The same operation as that of the flat sealing test is carried out, and the presence of leakage and the internal pressure are examined. The bending angle is 2° for pipes of not more than 315 mm diameter, 1.5° for those over 815 mm up to and including 630 mm diameter, and 1° for those over 630 mm. 9.1.12 Hot internal pressure creep test The hot internal pressure creep test shall be conducted in accordance with ISO 1167:1996. The test conditions shall be as given in table 6. Other colours may be used as agreed between the parties concerned with delivery. 112 Marking on pipes ‘The following information shell be indelibly marked on the outside surface of pipes. 1) Number of this Japanese Industrial Standard 2) Classification or its symbol 3) Nominal diameter 4) Year and month of manufacture or its abbreviation 5) Name of manufacturer or its abbreviation 11.3 Handling precautions The handling precautions should be described in the manual instruction or tech- nical data, and the instruction to read these precautions be borne on the products, packages, invoices, ete. Examples of precautions are shown in the following. a) When stored outside, the pipes shall not be exposed to direct sunlight and measures such as covering with a canvas with cares not to trap heat inside shall be taken. b) The pipes shall not be directly screw threaded ©) The pipes shall not be sprayed, coated, or in contact with any materials that may have adverse effect on the material of the pipe such as acetone, thinner, creosote, insecticide and termite exterminator. When the materials as above mentioned are not in direet contact with the pipe, in cases such as the pipe is only shallowly buried underground, care shall be taken that the spilt material does not corrode it by sweeping underground. PROTECTED BY COPYRIGHT d) e) 7 K 6741: 2007 To provide for expansion and contraction due to such phenomenon as.uneven sinking and temperature changes, measures such as providing flexible fittings, as required, at appropriate positions shall be taken. ‘The adhesives shall be thinly applied on the joint surfaces of both the pipe and the fitting, and after immediately jointing the two, the specified insertion force shall be applied for the specified duration. When installing, the vapour of me- dium in adhesives filled in the pipe shall be expelled by measures such as ven- tilation The adhesives to be used shall be suitable for the type of fitting.
