A comparative study of feedback systems in Indian and British institutions of higher

education

Abstract
Feedback is any response made in relation to students work such as an assessment task, a
performance or any other piece of work produced by a student, which is usually spoken or
written. Feedback is an essential component in the learning cycle.
Feedback is one of the most powerful influences on learning and achievement. However the
impact can be either positive or negative.
Purpose: The paper makes an attempt to compare the feedback systems prevailing in Indian
educational institutions and British educational institutions.
Approach / Methodology: Primary data from Indian educational institutions is collected
using semi-structured interviews and about the British institutions from their respective
websites.
Findings: This data will be analyzed to delineate the existing feedback systems and further
make a comparative analysis.
Conclusions and recommendations: Conclusions about the relevance and necessity of the
feedback systems and make suggest an effective feedback system.
