The High Court has held that a court order preventing the former spouse or civil partner of a
deceased individual from making a claim for provision from the deceased's estate under the
Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 does not prevent them from claiming in
the capacity of cohabitee (Chekov v Fryer and another [2015] EWHC 1642 (Ch)).
