Paragraph 3 of DepEd Memorandum No, 165, 2010 (Adoption of the 2007 World Health Organization Child Growth Standards) is hereby corrected to read as follows: “3, ‘The nutritional assessment of elementary and secondary students shall be done twice every school year ~ baseline will be in June-July and endline will be in February-March. The school nurses and teachers are fully responsible in the conduct of such assessments, while the school heads are responsible in providing the tools for height and weight-taking. The ideal tool is a calibrated beam balance scale with a height scale”. 2. The following are the additional information to said DepEd Memorandum: a. For pre-elementary pupils aged five (5] years old and below, World Health Organization (WHO) Weight-for-Age Tables shall be used and Health and Nutrition Center (HNC) Nutritional Status (Nut Stat) Form 3 shall be used in reporting. For pre-elementary, elementary and secondary students aged 6-19 years old, WHO-BMI-for-Age Tables shall be used and HNC Nut Stat Ferms 1 and 2 shall be used in reporting: b. As member of the Local Nutrition Committee, the Division and District Offices are requested to submit a copy of Nutritional Status Reports to the Provincial and Municipal Nutrition Committees; ¢. The trained Regional Health and Nutrition Unit (RHNU), Division Health and Nutrition Section (DHNS) personnel shall be responsible in the training of other health personnel in the division and school teachers before the conduct of the baseline assessment this School Year 2010- 2011; and d.
