Ethernet Performance Test (ITU-Y1564 Ethernet SAM)

The duration of the test should be one (1) hour per modulation for 64QAM Maximum Gain and
256QAM Maximum Throughput
The TX setting of the Ethernet tester should be 10% lower than the expected L1 throughput of link
at 64QAM Max Gain and 256QAM Max Throughput.

2. VLAN & QOS testing ( The below can be achieved with one tester per site if it
has mulitistreaming)
6.0

Description:
To demonstrate L1LA in one DAC GE3 card with VLAN Tagged traffic (With QoS) coming from two Ethernet
testers per site
To demonstrate that traffic with a higher priority will be diverted to the remaining link and will be allotted

with a higher bandwidth when either Link # 1 or Link # 2 fails.

Equipment Required:
Eclipse Radio test link (2+0 Configuration)
Two Ethernet Testers ( One in case the tester has multistreaming)
Setup:
Configure Link # 1 and Link # 2 to 56MHz, 256QAM (Fixed, Bandwidth, Modulation)
Enable the DPP Ports of the RAC 6x cards in Slot 1&4 of the INUe and connect these to Port 1&2 of the DAC
GE3 card in Slot 3, respectively
Connect the Tester #1&#2 to Port 3 of the DAC GE3 cards installed in Slot 3
Connect the Tester #3&#4 to Port 4 of the DAC GE3 cards installed in Slot 3
Enable the Layer 2 Electrical Ethernet Test on each Ethernet Tester
Set the Layer 1 TX of each Ethernet Tester to 346 Mbps
Set the TX Frame Size to 1518 bytes
Set the TX of Tester #1&#2 with VLAN 12, Priority 0
Set the TX of Tester #3&#4 with VLAN 34, Priority 7
Action:
Start the TX of the Tester #1 in Site A. Check the Layer 1&2 RX of the Tester #2 in Site B.
Start the TX of the Tester #2 in Site B. Check the Layer 1&2 RX of the Tester #1 in Site A.
Start the TX of the Tester #3 in Site A. Check the Layer 1&2 RX of the Tester #4 in Site B.
Start the TX of the Tester #4 in Site B. Check the Layer 1&2 RX of the Tester #3 in Site A.
