Decisions always control our fate and the outcomes.
It is the fabric, the
texture, of our lives. It is also a permanent entity in which we cannot travel back in time to undo the deed. Of course, we can change our minds; however, the initial decision can never be erased. It will always be a reminder, or a shadow, of who we really are. For example, your roommates offer you weed. You agree at first, but then you declined. What does it say about you? That you are strong? That you are not susceptible to peer pressure? Or perhaps you secretly want to try, but are afraid of the outcomes? Furthermore, we judge people based on their decisions. We choose what to eat, what college to go to, what to spend with our money. Perhaps you are a 4.0 student who chose to go to a lowly university instead. Thus, people who saw your alma mater might judge you to be indolent and unintelligent. Perhaps you are obese, and people assume that you go to McDonalds every day. That is why most people are scared to pick decisions for their sake. They are scared of the society itself. For example, Adam Lambert decides to become openly gay. Yet other people chose to stay hidden, behind a mask, frightened about other peoples opinions. As humans, we are a slave to the society, making decisions for them. Not for yourself.
