Dear Dr. Johnson:

Thank you for referring Lucie to us for a vena caval abnormality and proteinuria.

We have the results of the tick borne diseases panel back:

Test Result Reference Unit
Ehrlichia titer (E. canis) <1:16(-)
Lyme disease (Borrelia Burg) negative
SNAP4DX
Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever <1:16(-)
(Rickettsia)
Bartonella vinsonii (K9) <1:16(-)
Babesia canis <1:16(-)
Bartonella henselae 1:64+
Anaplasma SNAP4DX negative
Heartworm SNAP4DX negative
Ehrlichia canis SNAP4DX negative

The positive Bartonella henselae titer indicates past exposure or present infection ot this
organism. Given Lucie's history of proteinuria this is an interesting finding. I suggest we
further evalaute her for Bartonella by performing a blood PCR (sent to NCSU) at her
scheduled recheck.

Lucie's urine culture was negative.

Thank you again for referring Lucie to Texas A&M University. Please do not hesitate to
contact me with any questions or concerns regarding this case.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Lidbury, BVMS
