Recycled Bottle Raft

Nowadays bottles are commonly used in everyday living. Plastic bottles can be found
almost anywhere on Earth. For every six water bottles we use, only one makes it to the
recycling bin. The rest are sent to landfills. Or, even worse, they end up as trash on the land and
in rivers, lakes, and the ocean. Plastic bottles take many hundreds of years to disintegrate.

Objectives:

To help reduce plastic wastes.


To help people who might experience natural disasters specifically flash floods.
To teach people that waste can also save lives.

Materials:

Different bottles
Duct tape

Blade

Procedures:
1. Gather plastic bottles. Remove the labels, wash and dry.
2. Plan your design. Consider the following:
Stability
Floating ability
The number of people that can ride it

3. Using the bottles you have gathered, make the base of your raft. Combine them together
using duct tape.
4. Make your second layer of bottles. Attach it to the first one tightly.
5. After, add bottles in the corners of the base of your raft.
6. Secure everything. Make sure that there are no holes in your raft.
