‘’DRAWING PICTURE AS A SPEAKING ACTIVITY’’

What I learnt was that

One of the speaking activities that we learned last week was ‘’drawing
picture’’…In this activity, one student tells about a picture and the other
student tries to draw the picture according to what his friend says. We
mentioned that some students dont like drawing and they will be reluctant
because they may not be good at drawing. I really liked the solution
Gülşen hoca suggested. As a teacher, we can draw any picture on the
board as an example but in a clumsy way. Students will have fun, even
they can make fun of our terrible drawing but they will feel relax and won’t
worry about their bad pictures any more.

In this activity, participation is not equal because the drawer just listens to
his friends to draw the picture not speaking. In order to make it more
useful, we can give the picture with some missing parts to each one. the
picture may be the same but missing parts may be different for each
student. In that way, they complete their own picture by asking questions
each other and both speak so participation of the pair will be equal. I also
want to say it is Zekiye’s idea

I suppose I need to focus more on

Gülşen hoca emphasized the importance of ‘’equal participation, fun, role

cards, good-determined rules for games’’ for our future speaking
demonstrations.
