COURSE OVERVIEW:
In this course students will study the structure and foundations of the United States
Government. In addition they will study the history, structure intent, past and present
implications of the American governing system. Students will give their insight, create and
produce projects with the goal of impacting their fellow citizens.

MODULES AND TOPICS:


There are 4 quarters in the school year. Each quarters has between 4-6
modules. The course assignments are located in the Modules, each module
covers a particular topic:

Module 4: The Presidency
Module 5: Judicial Branch

Assignments in Modules:
Readings and Questions:
1. For each module you will go to the beyond books.com an electronic textbook and read a
set of selected sections and answer selected questions. You will post the answers in the
beyond books portfolio.

Activities:

2. Along with readings you will have specific activities to complete to that will reinforce the
information studied. You will post these in the Assignment Drop Box.

Your Missions:

3. In addition, you will have culminating assignments to assess your knowledge of the topics
within the module. These will be worth a lot points. They should exhibit your best work. Your
will post these on your electronic portfolio, known as the "EFOLIO"

Message Forum:
4. Student dialog. A message forum question about the topic will be asked for students to
give a response and dialog with fellow classmates. In the message forum everyone is
welcome to respond and pose questions to each other concerning the mod topic.

The assignments have no due dates other than they need to be turned in by
the end of the quarter to receive credit for the quarter.
