Persuasion Essay
Everyday students wake up from that obnoxious alarm clock around six in the morning, which is way
too early, 5 days a week and 180 days of the year. I propose that instead of starting school at 7:30 a.m, we
should start at 9 a.m and end at 4 pm. Every school is required to have at least 7 hours of school each day.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, schools that have started later, the more sleep the more
academic performance improves. This shows that students should at least have the minimum of 7 to 8 hours of
sleep each night so that they can be well prepared for the next day. Usually if kids havent had the right amount
of sleep, the next day theyre falling asleep in class the whole day, and most likely not paying attention to the
teacher. If students could start later, they would have more time to sleep so they could do a better job on their
academic success throughout each day. I hope that everyone in our community can come together and make this
happen so that we can get more sleep, the more sleep students get, the better success they will have.
