Course Outcomes
At the end of the course, and given actual clients, population group, with problems
in cellular aberration, acute biologic crisis, including emergency and disaster
nursing, the student should be able to:

Embody the different policies, rules and regulations in their everyday
encounter in the school, hospitals and in the community.

Define cancer.
Differentiate the types of cancer affecting the different organs of the body

Formulate a nursing care plan for the patient with specific type of cancer.

Classify the major types of disaster base on the unique characteristics and
describe their consequences.

Discuss the areas of the focus in emergency and disaster planning, all
hazards approach and the basis component and the disaster plan.

Recognize situations suggestive of an increased need for additional
comprehensive planning.

Establish acceptable standards for basic knowledge and skills necessary in
the administration and management of intravenous therapy.

Identify the role of fluids and electrolytes in maintenance of homeostasis and
its importance in the evaluation and administration of intravenous therapy.

Demonstrate a working knowledge of what is safe, effective care of patients
receiving IV therapy.
