m/s.
ThemeshwasdoneusingGridPro.The'checkMesh'isOK.
IamusingtherasnterFoamsolver.
IhavereusedthesettingsofE.Patterson(modelscaleofwigleyhull)withamaximumCourantnumberof
0.8.
After1015theruncrashes(boundingkandepsilon).
SoIhavedeciededtorunthecasesettingofftheturbulence(RASPropertiesandturbulencePropertiesfiles).
Andthecalculationrunswell,butveryslowly.
So,isitpossibletoresumehowtodefine(formula)theturbulenceparametersforsuchacase:

IamwonderingwhetheranyonehasmanagedtovalidaterasInterfoamonanytestcase(i.e.wigleyhullor
similar)sinceIhavetriedtodoitwiththeSeries60casebutIamgettingresultsthatarenotverycloseat
allwiththeexperimentalone.
Inbrief:
Openfoampredictsavalueofpressuredragandviscousdragthatisabouttwiceasbigastheexperimental
andCFXone(theCFXonerunonthesamegrid)
MyopenfoamcasestartsasfirstorderUpwindandatacertaintimeswitchestosecondorderSFCD
correctedetcetc..
Ihavetriedondifferentgrid,amediumone(500000cells)andamorerefinedone(1.5millionscell).
MeshcheckisfineandthemeshesareproducedwithICEMandarehexastructured
AsturbulencemodeliamusingonlyKepsilonsinceSSTwasnotconverging.
Thus,myquestionis:
HasanyoneobtainedanygoodagreementonanytestcasewithOpenfoamrasInterfoam?Prof.Patterson
showedbeforesomequalitativeveryinterestingresults,arethosealsoquantitevelycorrect?howdothey
comparewithexperimentaldata?
Finally:

to1.6withoutsuccess.Didanyonetriedtorunitin1.6?Anyhelpwouldbegreatlyappreciated.
