What is Personality?

The term personality derives from the ancient


Latin: Persona

Persona means Mask, a reference to the


external appearance of the individual, as a role,
but definition of personality is more than a role.

Personality psychologist are developing their


own theory based on their point of view,
therefore there are many perspectives of
personality referring to their own life experience.

personality.

Identify personal responsibility and feelings of self-

Consistent behavior patterns as the result of

conditioning and expectations

Look at differences in the way people process

information to explain differences in behavior.
