We appreciate your quick reply to our e-mail last week.
We are resubmitting our petition to you where our support for has now increased to 500
students, alumni and friends in favor of a reinstatement for Mr. Charles Brown.

As per your response to our last communication, we respect the privacy of this personnel matter; however, we would
be amiss if we didn't reiterate our disappointment in which this entire debacle has played out PUBLICLY.
As of this moment, (8/26) a hyperlink to a "university statement" about Brown's suspension still remains on the
homepage (a public domain) of ShawU.Edu. Our concern about his status in addition to the embarrassment that this
incident has caused to those who love Shaw is even more disturbing than the day this all played out in front of the
media. Again, while you insist upon a certain level of confidentiality, it was your decision to make his employment
status public. We hope you can understand this logic - and why we are insisting on immediate resolve.
We have been contacted by several band students (WHO WERE RECRUITED TO SHAW) who have been forced to
withdraw for financial reasons caused by scholarship monies that Shaw has reneged on. While Shaw is experiencing
a serious enrollment crisis, this can only add insult to injury.
As our support base strengthens daily - we insist that this matter be solved amicably and expeditiously.

Please take a moment to review new comments from petitioners as well the
signatures from 500 supporters from across the country.
Although we have been contacted by various media outlets as well as a few organizations that defend and sustain the
rights of those who attend and are employed by colleges and universities - we are patiently awaiting your response to
prevent further embarrassment of our Shaw University.
Your response to The Friends Of Shaw at this e-mail address (friendsofshawu@gmail.com) (or lack thereof) will be
shared with people who have signed this petition. We would like a response by this Monday, August 31 @ 4PM EST.
