Yankees Call Up Eight For

September
Since its September the MLB rosters now expand for extra depth going into the
playoffs. For the Yankees that means big names get to stay for at least the month. Among
the names are Rob Refsnyder, Andrew Bailey, and Jose Pirela. The team will also carry
three catchers with the call up of Austin Romine. The team also called up pitchers Caleb
Cotham and James Pazos, who could bring some depth into a bullpen that seems like it
may need help again this season. The last call up from early this morning was outfielder
Rico Noel. Nick Goody and Nick Rumbelow will be called up after the serve their short ten
day stint in Scranton/Wilkes Barre after recently be optioned to AAA ball.
Also the club reinstated second baseman and outfielder Dustin Ackley form the 15
day DL. This could also give them depth wherever since Ackley has been a utility man. He
didnt help the Yankees much not playing in his first two games and getting hurt after
pinch hitting in his third. Ackley could be a great asset to the Yankees even with the call ups
of Refsnyder and Pirela at the middle infield positions. Ackley can pinch hit and play the
outfield, giving the aging Beltran and Young out in right.
The call up of Rico Noel is mind boggling to many fans. Why do the Yankees need
another outfielder? The Yankees have a lot of depth at outfield right now. They have
Ellsbury, Gardner, Beltran, and Young. Now Beltran and Young are still threat to go on the
DL, but why Rico Noel? Who even is Rico Noel? Well Noel is a prospect batting .059 and is
1 for 17, so why him right? If you know the Yankees organization you are thinking Ben
Gamel was Definatly the better option. Noel will be a base running and base stealing
specialist.
The Yankees are trying to make a run for the playoffs as the Blue Jays are surging
and a big win tonight could help their case as the Jays lost last night and could lose again as
the Indians seem like the team that ruins teams hopes as the playoffs near. This slue of new
guys will definatly help the Yankees case to make a big playoff run.
